Chaco jar replica

250.00

This vessel is a replica in form and design of the cylindrical jars from Chaco Canyon. These vessels are rare and unique to Chaco canyon where around 200 jars were found at Pueblo Bonito in the 1890’s. Their purpose has been unknown until recently, after further analysis, traces of cocao were found in the walls of the jars. It is now assumed they are related to similarly shaped Maya jars and a ceremony found in central America.
